Whole Food Plant-Based Diet

Research suggests that a whole food, plant-based diet not only reduces the risk for coronary artery disease, but can actually reverse the condition in some cases.

This kind of diet consists primarily of non-starchy and starchy vegetables, fruit, whole grains, unsweetened plant-based beverages, and sources of omega 3, such as chia seeds and ground flaxseeds. Added fats and oils, dairy, meat, fish, fowl, eggs, vegan replacement foods, refined flours, and foods and drinks with added sugar are to be avoided as much as possible.

Nuts, avocados, coconut, seeds that are not sources of omega-3, dried fruit, added sweeteners, refined soy protein and wheat protein, caffeinated beverages, alcoholic beverages, and tofu are to be consumed only sparingly.
